This is a beautiful vintage print with vivid colors of a New Ireland Fruit Pigeon by John Gould. Gould could be described as the European Audubon, as his drawings were of very high quality and beauty.

Colors and details are absolutely gorgeous for a print 71 years old. 
The paper it is printed on is high quality.

This listing is for a plate removed directly from Gould's rare folio book of prints “TROPICAL BIRDS” published in 1948. This is a high quality original page removed from the book, not a copy or reproduction. This original John Gould print is on quality heavy paper stock printed professionally in 1948. These vintage prints capture the original gorgeous vivid colors of John Gould's original print over 170 years old. 

Professionally matted with acid free mats and framed  in a unique hand painted frame  with lots of details signed by the artist, created to enhance  the print and give it a Victorian feel.

We have reduced all our art because we have just closed the doors of our Art Gallery.
