The laces look very good but they are old, not brand new like the fabrics under them

I noticed a couple of pin drop rusted spots, very small and normal for something this old.

These pillows are entirely handmade, the base is either cotton or silk, white or slightly cream colored, and all that material is new. The pillow fronts however are a potpourri of antique laces or embroideries, quilted together on top, and these needle works are from 60 years to 90 years old: they were completely handcrafted originally. 

These delicate handmade unique lace or embroideries came from France, are often mixed together in one pillow and most of them date from the 1920's to 1940's. They were created out of doilies and other lace handy-work.
