Rare, older, hand-carved Spirit mask representing an ancestor, a protective idol kept in the men's house. Its eyes are nassa shells, decorations of bush twine and traces of natural pigments still apparent.

Such masks were most important as they were oracles consulted for advice in times of sickness, disease and wars by the clan or tribe.
