Very Scarce protective Yamuk Clan Spirit Figure, a bird-man (kingfisher with human legs) representing an ancestor seen in a dream

The legs go in the opposite direction of the body as the transformation from bird to man is in progress.

The base can easily be removed if needed, or painted.

This is a ritual statue and would have stood in the men’s house during discussions between the leaders. 

Measures: 20 3/4" X 6" X 6"

Ancestors assist one's life by interceding on a high plane to provide food, prevent and cure illness, acquire stature, and counter sorcery attempted via the ancestor spirit plane.

Statue was hand carved with primitive tools and painted extensively with black (charcoal), white (lime) and red clay pigments, made from natural sources which are still very bright.
