Decorated with carved geometric motifs, polychrome designs created with natural pigments and meant to scare the opponent.

It was stored in the man's house when not in use and the motifs identify the clan from this village.

it is also considered a spiritual protection during war, hence the motifs often created to scare the opponent and freeze him in his tracks, in this one's case, it has many eyes staring at the enemy and faces upright and upside down.

We have other shields including some from the Asmat region available, arrow reflectors and panels as well as story boards, gope boards etc...

Some of the photos are of tribes taken while we are there.

Every Arrow Reflector we have is unique: no twos are the same as each is created by its owner.
